Nassar Nassar Elected President of the General Union of Palestinian Industries in a Unified Move for West Bank and Gaza
Ramallah/Gaza – In a significant move toward institutional reform and economic integration, the General Union of Palestinian Industries (GUPI) has elected its new leadership during a unified board meeting held simultaneously in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The election took place under the supervision of the Palestinian Ministry of Industry.
New Executive Appointments
The meeting resulted in the election of the following board members to lead the Union’s next strategic phase:
-
Mr. Nassar Nassar: President of the General Union.
-
Mr. Osama Al-Naasan: Vice President.
-
Mr. Mahdi Khanfar: Secretary.
-
Mr. Tayseer Al-Oustaz: Treasurer.

Strengthening Governance and National Partnership
This election is part of a comprehensive national vision aimed at enhancing coordination between the Union, the Ministry of Industry, and specialized industrial associations. The newly elected President, Mr. Nassar Nassar, emphasized that this step secures a balanced representation of the Palestinian industrial sector across both the West Bank and Gaza, enabling the Union to effectively implement its strategic recovery plans.
Representatives from the Ministry of Industry affirmed their commitment to this partnership, highlighting that the election reinforces transparency and institutional participation. They noted that the Union serves as a “strategic partner” in shaping industrial policies, stimulating investment, and leading reconstruction efforts—crucial steps given the current economic hardships facing Palestine.

Strategic Priorities
The discussions focused on several key agendas, including the improvement of the industrial business environment, boosting the competitiveness of Palestinian products, and accelerating sustainable industrial development programs, with a specific focus on the reconstruction needs of the Gaza Strip.
